-- Competitive Ship Technology through IT-based Product Simulation --Wettbewerbsvorteile durch Informationstechnisch unterstützte Produktsimulation im Schiffbau
WIPS encompasses more than 20 different modules, under four main themes concerned with the integrated
analysis of hull and structural design and propulsion systems, simulation of production procedures,
IT-supported manufacturing and life-cycle monitoring of the ship in service.
Design-related studies aimed at achieveing functionally integrated analysis for structural systems development, address areas such as fatigue and load investigation, dynamic analysis, ultimate structural strentgh, and also propulsion and electrical engineering aspects. Under the domain of production process simulation, the partners focus on improving accuracy, quality and reliability, while the attention to be given to IT support for distributed manufacturing reflects the demands imposed on shipbuilders by the industry's increased recource to subcontracting.
This site will lead to the individual project and partner sites as they are dynamically developing.
