MARINFO aims at the development and provision of Maritime Industry Information
Infrastructure in a stepwise approach beginning with a prototype and
leading to the open and self supporting system which finally will be
accessible by all participants in Europe's Maritime Industry and the
respective science community. MARINFO is intended as a service to provide access to scientific and technical data from a wide range of databases in the European Union to accept the challenge and develope the Marine Industry Information Structure by structuring available information, adapting intelligent filtering processes for targeted information input and retrieval increasing speed and efficiency of information supply. MARINFO will also provide an interactive and dynamically growing maritime expert database and search engine that makes it easy to find mail addresses, phone/fax numbers of maritime experts.
